Tasso. Lamento e trionfo / Le Triomphe funèbre du Tasse / Héroïde funèbre / Die Ideale is a collection of symphonic poems by Franz Liszt, composed between 1849 and 1857. The pieces display Liszt's programme-driven orchestral writing, characterised by dramatic contrasts, rich orchestral colour and thematic transformation, and they mark his shift from piano virtuosity towards orchestral tone-poetry that helped shape later Romantic orchestral practice.
