Polonaises
Album by Fryderyk Chopin & Arthur Rubinstein
Polonaises is a collection of piano compositions by Polish composer Frédéric Chopin, composed between 1826 and 1849. Rooted in the Polish dance tradition and the Romantic idiom, the pieces feature characteristic dotted rhythms, lyrical melodies, virtuosic piano writing and advanced harmonic language, and they span Chopin's development from his early works to his mature output, reflecting both national elements and his evolving compositional style.
