Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, Op. 31 and Vespers, Op. 37 are choral works by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff, composed in 1910 and 1915 respectively. Both pieces set Russian Orthodox liturgical texts for largely a cappella choir and are characterised by dense, sonorous harmonies, wide-ranging vocal writing and modal, chant-inflected melodies that blend traditional liturgical practice with late-Romantic harmonic language, reflecting Rachmaninoff's deep engagement with sacred music in the later phase of his Russian career.
