Symphony No. 9 (Great) is a symphony by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed between 1825 and 1828. The work is a large-scale C major symphony characterised by expansive orchestration, broad lyrical themes and adventurous harmonic progressions, representing one of Schubert's late mature orchestral achievements and a bridge toward the Romantic symphonic tradition.
