Ungarische Tänze = Hungarian Dances Nos. 1 - 21
Album by Johannes Brahms & London Festival Orchestra & Alfred Scholz
Ungarische Tänze (Hungarian Dances Nos. 1–21) is a collection of piano pieces by Johannes Brahms, published between 1869 and 1880. The dances draw on Hungarian folk melodies and lively dance rhythms, were originally written for piano four-hands and later adapted for solo piano and orchestra, and they illustrate Brahms's engagement with folk sources and his blending of classical forms with vernacular dance idioms within his mid-career output.
