String Quartets, opp. 96 “American” and 106
Album by Antonín Dvořák & Vlachovo kvarteto Praha
String Quartets, Op. 96 "American" and Op. 106 are two chamber works by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1893 and 1895 respectively. Both quartets sit within the late-Romantic chamber music tradition, featuring lyrical melodies, folk-inflected rhythms and rich harmonic language, and they mark Dvořák's mature chamber style following his American sojourn.
