Piano Sonatas nos. 2, 3, 5, 9

Album by Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin & Anatoli Ugorski

Piano Sonatas nos. 2, 3, 5, 9 is a set of piano sonatas by Alexander Scriabin, composed between 1897 and 1913. These works trace Scriabin's progression from late-Romantic, chromatically rich piano writing toward an increasingly idiosyncratic harmonic language and mystical, colour-oriented sonority, marking key stages in his shift from conventional tonal practice to more adventurous, forward-looking approaches in early 20th-century piano music.
