Science Fiction is a studio album by American saxophonist Ornette Coleman, released in 1972. It is rooted in free jazz, moves between free improvisation and composed passages and uses both acoustic and electric textures, and it follows Coleman's 1960s free-jazz period as a step toward wider tonal and ensemble approaches.
