Six Partitas for Solo Harpsichord
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & James Weaver
Six Partitas for Solo Harpsichord is a set of six keyboard partitas by Johann Sebastian Bach, published as Clavier-Übung I in 1731. Musically, the set is a collection of Baroque keyboard suites that mix dance movements and counterpoint, feature ornamented harpsichord textures and passages that range from lyrical to technically demanding, and it is part of Bach's mature keyboard output that influenced later keyboard composition.
