Symphony no. 3, op. 43 / Symphony no. 4, op. 54
Album by Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin & Oslo‐Filharmonien & Vasily Petrenko
Symphony No. 3, Op. 43 and Symphony No. 4, Op. 54 are orchestral works by Russian composer Alexander Scriabin, completed in 1904 and 1907 respectively. Both pieces extend late-Romantic orchestral language into Scriabin's emerging mystical and colouristic idiom, featuring dense chromatic harmonies, expansive textures and innovative orchestration that bridge his earlier tonal style and the increasingly individual harmonic vocabulary of his later works.
