Symphonie Nr. 6
Album by Gustav Mahler & Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks & Daniel Harding
Symphony No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1904 and first performed in 1906. The large-scale late-Romantic work is characterised by stark contrasts, dense orchestration and intense rhythmic motifs, and it occupies a pivotal place in Mahler's mature output as a darker, more severe statement that helps bridge Romantic symphonic tradition and early 20th-century orchestral developments.
