Symphony No. 7
Album by Gustav Mahler & Michael Gielen & SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden‐Baden und Freiburg
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. Musically it is a large-scale late Romantic orchestral work characterised by unconventional structure, nocturnal and evocative orchestral textures and striking contrasts of mood, and it occupies a transitional position in Mahler's output as he continued to expand orchestral colour and formal scope.
First released: October 2001
