12 Etudes d'exécution transcendante

12 Études d'exécution transcendante is a set of twelve piano études by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, published in 1852. They are Romantic-era, highly virtuosic works characterised by extreme technical demands, bold harmonic language and dramatic contrasts, and they represent a culmination of Liszt's exploration of pianistic technique that helped define the nineteenth-century piano repertoire.
