Harpsichord Concertos BWV 1053, 1054, 1056, 1058
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Ton Koopman
Harpsichord Concertos BWV 1053, 1054, 1056 and 1058 is a collection of Baroque keyboard concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the late 1730s to early 1740s. These concertos pair a solo harpsichord with string orchestra and continuo, reflect Bach's frequent practice of adapting material between keyboard and instrumental forms, and occupy an important place among his later instrumental works for the development of the keyboard concerto in the Baroque era.
