My Country
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Václav Talich & Česká filharmonie
Má vlast (My Country) is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879. The music blends late-Romantic orchestral writing with Czech folk-inspired themes and vivid tone-painting, using recurring motifs and varied orchestral colours to evoke landscapes and national history, and it represents a key work in Smetana's late output and in the development of Czech national music.
