Symphonies nos. 2 & 3
Album by Johannes Brahms & Wiener Philharmoniker & Sir John Barbirolli
Symphonies Nos. 2 and 3 are the second and third symphonies by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1877 and 1883 respectively. Both works are late-Romantic orchestral compositions that blend classical forms with rich harmonic language, lyrical themes and robust orchestration, and they represent key stages in Brahms's development as a symphonist following his First Symphony.
