Turangalîla-Symphonie is a symphonic work by French composer Olivier Messiaen, composed in 1946–1948 and first performed in 1949. The work features expansive orchestration, rhythmic complexity and a distinctive harmonic language drawing on modes and non-Western influences, including a prominent electronic instrument, and marks a late-1940s expansion of Messiaen's orchestral language that broadened the possibilities of orchestral colour and form.
