Symphonies: No. 6 "Le Matin" / No. 7 "Le Midi" / No. 8 "Le Soir"
Album by Joseph Haydn & Academy of St Martin in the Fields & Sir Neville Marriner
Symphonies Nos. 6-8 are a set of orchestral works by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, composed in 1761. They exemplify early Classical style with transparent textures, lively string writing and prominent wind parts, and occupy an important place in Haydn's formative output by experimenting with orchestral colour and thematic interplay that anticipated his later symphonic developments.
