Daphnis et Chloé is a ballet by French composer Maurice Ravel, premiered in 1912. The score exemplifies musical impressionism through lush orchestration, modal and chromatic harmonies, expansive orchestral textures and prominent use of chorus and solo instruments, and it occupies a significant place in Ravel's output and in early 20th-century orchestral repertoire.
