Album by Antonín Dvořák & Carlo Maria Giulini & Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1884 and premiered in 1885. The work is a large-scale Romantic symphony in D minor characterised by rich orchestration, strong motivic development and a contrast of sombre and lyrical material, and it occupies an important place in Dvořák's symphonic output by consolidating his technique and balancing Germanic symphonic forms with Slavic rhythmic and melodic influences.
