Scheherezade Op.35
Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky & Rainer Küchl & André Previn & Wiener Philharmoniker
Scheherazade, Op. 35, is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work employs vivid, colourful orchestration and exotic, narrative-driven themes with a prominent solo violin line representing the storyteller, and it is a representative late-Romantic orchestral piece that illustrates Rimsky-Korsakov's approach to orchestration and his place in Russian music history.
