Carnaval

Album by Robert Schumann & Alicia de Larrocha

Carnaval, Op. 9 is a piano cycle by Robert Schumann, composed in 1834 and 1835. The work is a set of short Romantic character pieces for solo piano that move between contrasting moods and use dance rhythms alongside chromatic harmony, and it comes early in Schumann's career when he concentrated on piano miniatures and cycles inspired by literature.
