Swan Lake — Suite from the Ballet is an orchestral suite drawn from the ballet by Пётр Ильич Чайковский, composed in 1875–1876. The music exemplifies late-Romantic Russian ballet orchestration, with sweeping string writing, prominent leitmotifs and dramatic contrasts, and it occupies a central place in the development of the classical ballet repertoire and in Tchaikovsky's career as a composer for the theatre.
