Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, called the Choral, is a symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1824. The work is a late-period symphony that combines large-scale orchestral writing with choral and solo vocal parts, expands the traditional symphonic form through extended structure and contrapuntal writing, and was among Beethoven's last major works.
