Symphony No. 1 in G minor, Op. 13 Winter Daydreams is the first symphony by Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1866. Rooted in the Romantic orchestral tradition, the work features rich string writing, expressive melodies and colourful orchestration, and it marks an early step in Tchaikovsky's development as a symphonist and his emergence on the Russian and European musical scene.
