Symphony No. 7 "Leningrad" is the seventh symphony by Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich, completed in 1941 and premiered in 1942. The work is scored for a large orchestra and combines expansive, often martial themes, ostinato-driven passages and sombre slow movements that evoke the wartime siege, occupying a prominent place in Shostakovich's output as a notable wartime symphonic statement within Soviet-era music.
