Symphony no. 4 in G major

Album by Gustav Mahler & Essi Luttinen & Turun filharmoninen orkesteri & Leif Segerstam

Symphony No. 4 in G major is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1900. It combines late-Romantic orchestration with moments of chamber-like clarity and folk-inspired melody, and is distinctive within Mahler's symphonic output for its relatively compact scale and the use of a soprano voice in the concluding movement to convey a childlike perspective.
