The Seasons
Album by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky & Bruce Liu
The Seasons is a cycle of twelve pieces for solo piano by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1876. The pieces employ Romantic-era harmonies, lyrical melodies and evocative piano textures to suggest intimate seasonal scenes, and the cycle occupies a place in Tchaikovsky's output as a compact, domestically oriented piano work created amid his larger orchestral and ballet projects.
