The Apostles is an oratorio by English composer Edward Elgar, completed and first performed in 1903. The music is late-Romantic choral and orchestral writing with expansive melodies and dense harmonies that uses both soloists and chorus extensively, and it followed Elgar's earlier orchestral successes as he moved into large-scale choral composition.
