Symphony no. 1 / Poem of Ecstasy
Album by Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin & Государственный академический симфонический оркестр России & Evgeny Fyodorovich Svetlanov & Академический Большой хор «Мастера хорового пения»
Symphony No. 1 and Poem of Ecstasy are orchestral works by Russian composer Alexander Scriabin, composed in 1890 and 1907 respectively. The earlier work reflects a late-Romantic, programme-oriented approach with conventional forms and dense orchestration, whereas the later piece adopts more adventurous chromaticism, freer single-movement structure and a focus on mystical, colour-oriented sonorities that anticipate Scriabin's mature harmonic language.
