The Three Cello Suites

The Three Cello Suites is a set of three suites for solo cello by English composer Benjamin Britten, composed in 1964–65. The works draw on baroque forms and dance idioms refracted through mid-20th-century harmonic and textural language, making use of the cello's full range, varied articulations and extended techniques, and they occupy an important place in Britten's later instrumental output and the solo cello repertoire.
