Stabat Mater is a sacred choral composition by Antonín Dvořák, completed in 1877. The work sets the traditional Latin Stabat Mater text for soloists, chorus and orchestra and exemplifies Dvořák's Romantic-era idiom with expansive lyrical melodies, rich orchestration and moments of dramatic contrast, representing a major large-scale sacred work from his middle period.
