Antiche danze ed arie
Album by Ottorino Respighi & Boston Symphony Orchestra & Seiji Ozawa
Antiche danze ed arie is a suite of orchestral arrangements by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, first published in 1917. It transcribes and reworks Renaissance and early Baroque lute pieces into orchestral settings, employing modal harmonies, contrapuntal textures and vivid orchestral colour that reflect Respighi's early interest in reviving historical music within a modern orchestral language.
