Symphony No. 3 is the third symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1896. A vast late-Romantic work characterised by monumental scale, adventurous orchestration and the inclusion of vocal forces, it traverses pastoral, solemn and ecstatic textures to explore themes of nature and the human condition and marks a pivotal point in Mahler's development towards his mature symphonic language.
