Symphonie N° 9 en ut majeur is the ninth symphony by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1825–1826. The work is a large-scale orchestral composition situated between the Classical and early Romantic idioms, characterised by broad orchestration, expansive sonata structures and contrasts between lyrical solo passages and full orchestral tuttis, and it occupies a late position in Schubert's output as he moved toward grander symphonic forms.
