Water Music
Album by George Frideric Handel & Berliner Philharmoniker & Riccardo Muti
Water Music is a collection of orchestral suites by George Frideric Handel, first performed in 1717. The work exemplifies Baroque orchestration through dance-derived movements, prominent horn and trumpet writing and lively rhythmic character, and it occupies an important place in Handel's output as music composed for outdoor ceremonial performance on the River Thames during the reign of George I.
