I Pianeti (The Planets) is an orchestral suite by English composer Gustav Holst, composed between 1914 and 1916. The work employs a large orchestra with vivid orchestration, prominent rhythmic motifs, modal and chromatic harmonies and contrasting moods to evoke astrological characters, and it occupies a central place in Holst's career and in early 20th-century orchestral repertoire, influencing later concert and film scoring practices.
