Symphonies #1-3
Album by Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich & Dresdner Philharmonie & Michael Sanderling
Symphonies Nos. 1-3 are orchestral works by Dmitri Shostakovich, composed between 1924 and 1929. These early symphonies trace his development from student influences to a more distinctive voice, combining neoclassical structures, sharp rhythmic character and, in the latter two, experimental incorporation of vocal and choral elements that signalled his emergence in Soviet musical life.
