Stabat Mater is a sacred choral composition by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1876–1877. Scored for four soloists, chorus and orchestra, the work sets the medieval hymn in a Romantic idiom with lyrical melodies, rich orchestration and expressive harmonic language, and it marks Dvořák's engagement with large-scale sacred composition during his middle period.
