Symphony No. 3 in A major is the third symphony by Austrian composer Franz Schmidt, completed in 1928. The work is a late-Romantic orchestral composition characterised by expansive lyrical themes, dense harmonic writing and contrapuntal textures, and it occupies a mature position in Schmidt's output that reflects Central European symphonic traditions of the early twentieth century.
