Symphonies no. 5 & 6

Album by Franz Schubert & Orchestra of St. Luke’s & Julius Rudel

Symphonies No. 5 and No. 6 are orchestral works by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1816 and 1818 respectively. They feature Classical-era orchestration, song-like melodies and clear formal structures with hints of early Romantic harmony, and occupy a transitional point in Schubert's career as he broadened his symphonic language beyond his earlier works.
