Sinfonie Nr. 1 c-moll

Album by Anton Bruckner & WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln & Günter Wand

Symphony No. 1 in C minor is the first numbered symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1866. A large-scale Romantic orchestral work characterised by expansive thematic development, dramatic contrasts and prominent brass chorales, it represents an early mature statement that consolidates Bruckner's evolving symphonic language and foreshadows the monumental structures of his later symphonies.
First released: 1982
