Album by George Frideric Handel & Ensemble Zefiro & Alfredo Bernardini & Miriam Kutrowatz & Daniel Johannsen & Damien Gastl & Arnold Schoenberg Chor
Alexander's Feast is a secular ode by George Frideric Handel, composed in 1736. The work is baroque vocal music for soloists, chorus and orchestra and is characterised by clear melodic lines, contrapuntal choral writing and orchestral interludes that follow the poem's dramatic scenes, and it was written during Handel's mature London period when he was active in composing oratorio-style works.
