Piano Quintet in E-flat / Piano Quartet in E-flat

Album by Robert Schumann & Leonard Bernstein & Glenn Gould & Juilliard String Quartet

The Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44, and the Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47 are chamber works by German composer Robert Schumann, both composed in 1842. Both works exemplify Schumann's Romantic chamber-music style through lyrical themes, warm harmonic language and intricate dialogue between piano and strings, and they were composed during his productive 1842 period when he focussed his attention on piano and chamber repertoire.
