Conception Vessel

Conception Vessel is the debut studio album by American jazz drummer Paul Motian, released in 1973. The record mixes free jazz and chamber jazz with sparse, atmospheric arrangements that put melodic bass and piano beside Motian's distinctive drumming, and it was an early step in his move to write compositions that stress texture and space in small-group jazz.
