Symphony no. 9
Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine & Alain Lombard
Symphony No. 9 is the ninth symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed and premiered in 1824. Musically it blends late-Classical orchestral writing with emerging Romantic expressiveness, employing a large orchestra and, unusually for a symphony of its time, vocal soloists and a chorus in the final movement; as Beethoven's final complete symphony it expanded the boundaries of the symphonic form and influenced subsequent composers.
