Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp minor
Album by Gustav Mahler & David Briggs
Symphony No. 5 in C-sharp minor is a symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1902. The five-movement score combines a stern funeral march, large-scale orchestral climaxes and a prolonged slow movement scored chiefly for strings and harp, exhibiting dense orchestration, contrapuntal textures and a shift in Mahler's output toward a more purely instrumental symphonic focus.
