Symphony No. 7 in C major is the seventh symphony by Soviet composer Dmitri Shostakovich, completed in 1941 and premiered in 1942. The work is a large-scale 20th-century symphony characterised by extended orchestral textures, prominent brass and percussion writing and the juxtaposition of martial and lyrical material, and it forms a major part of Shostakovich's wartime output often associated with the Siege of Leningrad.
