Symphony No. 3 in C minor, op. 78 "Organ"
Album by Camille Saint‐Saëns & Royal Promenade Orchestra & Alfred Gehardt
Symphony No. 3 in C minor, Op. 78 (Organ) is a symphony by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns, completed and first performed in 1886. The large-scale late-Romantic work integrates the pipe organ with the full orchestra, combining sweeping melodies, rich harmonic colour and contrapuntal passages, and it represents a late-career culmination of Saint-Saëns's symphonic writing and engagement with grand orchestral forms.
First released: 1987
