Symphony no. 4 in G major

Album by Gustav Mahler & Christiane Oelze & Gürzenich-Orchester Köln & Markus Stenz

Symphony No. 4 in G major is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1901. The symphony is comparatively concise and transparent in orchestration compared with his larger symphonies, culminating in a final movement for soprano that portrays a child's vision of heaven and marking a transitional point in Mahler's output between his earlier orchestral methods and his later, more expansive works.
